Bread Upma Recipe
It’s a simple Indian fusion recipe, which we usually make for breakfast or snack with some slices of bread.

- 5 slices Whole Wheat Multigrain Bread
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 1 Tomato finely chopped
- 2 Green chilies
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, and chana dal
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Chili Powder Increase the level accordingly, If you prefer spicy.
- 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 2 tbsp Water
- Cashew nuts few pieces
- Curry leaves, Coriander leaves few pieces
- Salt required level
First, toast the bread on Tawa or in the oven. You can apply some butter while toasting if you prefer.
Once the bread slices are toasted. Keep it aside and start preparing the masala. Take a Kadai, add oil in that, once the oil is heated, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal and urad dal, roast for few secs. Then add some cashew nuts as well. Roast everything well.
Now add the chopped onions, green chilies, and curry leaves. Saute everything well.
Now add the chopped tomatoes and mix everything well.
When everything combines well, add ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder, and chili powder. Mix everything well.
Let it cook well, then add 2 tbsp water. Mix everything well.
Meanwhile, chop the bread slices equally, however the shape you want and keep it aside.
Once the masala is ready, mix the chopped bread slices into that. Give a good mix.
Once everything is done, you can garnish some coriander leaves on top of it.
Delicious bread upma is ready to serve.
