Bottle Gourd Roast | Lauki Fry Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 piece Bottle gourd Chop into round thin slices
  • 3 tbsp Besan / Chickpea flour
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder Add more if you prefer spicy
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala to increase the flavour
  • Salt required level
  • Oil to roast bottle gourd slices

Instructions

  • Get all the ingredients ready. Now, Take a mixing bowl, add Besan flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, Garam masala and chaat masala.
  • Add a little bit (1 to 2 tbsp) of water, mix and make a smooth batter out of it.
  • Now add the bottle gourd slices and coat well. The batter should be thick since the vegetable will leave some water, so make sure it is not runny.
  • Once the marination is done, refrigerate this for 15 mins. After that, heat the Tawa, spread a little oil on that and place the bottle gourd slices.
  • Allow it to cook for some time. Then turn the slices and allow it to cook until it becomes crispy.
  • Once it is ready, serve immediately. If you store this roast in a container, it will become soft and it won’t be as nice as when it was crispy. So make sure to serve immediately. Bottle gourd roast is ready.

  • Besan / Chickpea flour – 3 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp (prefer spicy, add more)
  • Garam Masala – 1 tsp
  • Chaat Masala – 1/2 tsp (to increase the flavour)
  • Salt – required level
  • Oil – To roast the bottle gourd
