Earlier I didn’t know, buttermilk has so many good properties. I only remember that my elders said, if you drink buttermilk post heavy meal, it helps to digest the food we eat. Later when I did a quick search, I found that probiotic properties are available in buttermilk. So when you drink it, the healthy bacteria in your body become active and helps the intestine, which eases the digestive system and boosts immunity.

Buttermilk has more water, it helps to balance the water level in your body. Even high lactose intolerance people can take buttermilk. Lactose is converted into Lactic acid, which is easily digestible. My parents usually make this buttermilk in a traditional manner by removing the butter from the curd. Since I don’t have that equipment, I used a blender instead. You can also use a wire whisk to beat the curd and dilute it with water.
