Just one simple flavor can change the whole thing amazing. This cake is one big example of that. This custard powder made this cake magically more flavorful and yummy. I am not exaggerating. It’s true. The process is very simple. I wanted to add some fresh cream touch. So I added the custard, fruits, and cherry on top of it.

Eggless Fruit Custard Cake Recipe

The custard powder made this cake magically more flavorful and yummy. The process is very simple. I wanted to add some fresh custard and fruit touch. So I added them on top.

Ingredients

For Cake

  • 1 1/4 cup Maida / Plain flour
  • 1/2 cup Custard powder
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 70 gms Butter
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice / Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence

For Custard Topping

  • 2 tsp Custard powder
  • 1/2 + 1 cup + tbsp Milk
  • 2 tsp Sugar Add more if you like a sweet custard
  • Cherry, Fruits, Tutti Frutti few pieces

Instructions

  • Take custard powder in a mixing bowl.
  • Sieve plain flour or maida, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • Now, mix all the dry flours and keep it aside.
  • Take butter in another mixing bowl.
  • Add sugar into it.
  • Beat the mixture well. Until both combine.
  • Now add the warm milk and beat well.
  • Add vinegar and vanilla essence, beat well until it combines.
  • Now add half of the dry flour mixture to the wet mixture, use the cut and fold method, mix everything well.
  • Then add the remaining flour to the batter and mix everything without any lumps.
  • Meanwhile, Get the oven ready. Preheat the oven for about 15 mins at 180 degrees. Transfer the batter into a greased pan.
  • Once the preheating is done, place the baking tray in the preheated oven, bake until the cake is ready. In my case, I baked for about 21 mins. Use a toothpick to check the cake.
  • Now prepare the custard, Take custard powder, and 1 tbsp milk in a bowl. Mix well without any lumps.
  • Now boil 1/2 cup of milk in a saucepan, when it comes boiling, add sugar and custard mix as well.
  • Now mix gently in a low flame, within a few mins, the custard starts to set and it becomes thick. Immediately turn off the stove. Cool it down.
  • Once both cake and custard is ready. Just trim the top of the cake. Start pouring the custard over the cake. Cover the cake with custard generously. Add your favorite fruits, nuts, and cherries on top and enjoy it.

Notes

  • I have used vanilla flavoured custard powder, you can change if you like some other flavour.
  • Pre-heat time and baking time changes according to the oven.
  • Custard Cake tastes better when you prepare with butter, instead of oil. If you would like to use oil, you can go ahead.

  3. Such a delicious dessert to enjoy Malini. I remember whenever I baked cakes my mother in law would love to have it with custard. Due to the weather we would enjoy it wit ice cream but for her it had to be custard. Love the topping of fruits and nuts. Makes it look so inviting.
