I love paneer in any form, this one is very special, Paneer and other vegetables are marinated and grilled, it sounds nice and it also tastes heavenly. It’s very popular in restaurants. I am currently in love with capsicums, the color and flavor is too good to resist. So I decided to make this recipe. The recipe is quite simple, only the time for marination is quite more. But it’s good to marinate for at least 30 mins to 45 mins.

You can make this recipe either on tawa or in the oven (grill) as well. I tried both ways here. It came out really well. Use non stick tawa for better result. Make sure your tawa or pan is seasoned well, so that you can avoid the sticking part. And also use thick curd or yogurt, so that it gets coated well. I used a bit of gram flour, to get the crispness. You can either use it or ignore it.

Ingredients:

  • Paneer – 200 gm (chopped evenly)
  • Capsicums – 1 cup (green, yellow and red)
  • Onion – 1 medium size (chopped)
  • Thick yogurt – 1/2 cup
  • Gram flour – 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Carom seeds – 1 tsp
  • Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – required level
  • Dry mango powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
  • lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Oil – to coat the pan

Process:

  1. Get all the ingredients ready. Chop the veggies and keep it ready.
  2. Take the thick curd in a mixing bowl.
  3. Then add in all the spice powders, gram flour and salt.
  4. Mix until everything is combined well. Now add onions, capsicums and paneer. Mix gently until all the vegetables are coated well. Now to marinate, cover the bowl and refrigerate for about 45 minutes.
  5. After marination, Take wooden skewers start inserting the marinated onions, paneers and capsicums.
  6. If you are frying on tawa, coat the tawa with oil. Roast all the sides evenly. Use seasoned tawa to avoid sticking.
  7. If you are using an oven, cover the plate with aluminum foil, place the skewers on it and grill according to the quantity.
  8. Once it is done, remove it and coat some lime juice on it and serve.
  9. The yummy Paneer Tikka is ready to serve.
