Eggless Whole Wheat Marble Cake Recipe – Super soft and moist cake with beautiful zebra pattern.

First, I must say thanks to Poonam for the wonderful recipe of how to make a marble cake. If you have time stop by her blog called “Annapurna” https://poonambachhav.blogspot.com/. I made some slight changes to the recipe, but I followed the steps to get the perfect Zebra pattern with the chocolate and Vanilla flavor cake.
I used to wonder how people make such beautiful cakes, because I have been making the basic version so far, so this is my first attempt with some different type of pattern. After making this cake I actually got some confidence to try in different varieties. Let’s get to the recipe part.
Ingredients:
- Whole wheat Flour – 2 cups
- Plain yogurt / Curd – 1 cup
- Sugar – 1 cup (powdered)
- Oil – 1/2 cup
- Butter – 1/4 cup
- Milk – 1/4 cup (add more, if required)
- Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
- Baking powder – 1 tsp
- Baking soda – 1/4 tsp
- Cocoa powder – 2 tbsp
- Butter – to grease the cake mould
Process:
Get all the ingredients ready. Take curd and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
Whisk well, once it combines, add butter and oil into that.
Mix well, then add vanilla extract also. Whisk everything well, until the oil incorporates with the mixture.
Now sieve wheat flour, baking soda and baking powder into that mixture.
Now use cut and fold method, mix everything without making any lumps in the batter. Add milk while mixing. Do not over mix the batter.
Now split the batter into two portions, Take another mixing bowl, pour the half of this batter into that. Add cocoa powder into it.
Mix well using cut and fold method. If necessary, add milk while mixing.
Now transfer the cake batter with step by step process into a cake pan. Make sure the cake pan is greased well with butter. Now take 2 tbsp of vanilla batter and pour it in the center of the greased pan. Spread a little bit by tapping the pan gently. Now take 2 tbsp chocolate batter and add on top of the vanilla batter. Tap again gently again to spread the batter.
This process requires a little bit of time, so patience is very important here. Take your time and repeat the same process until you finish both the batters. Make sure, the batter spreads evenly and settle the corners well. At the end you will see the zebra pattern.
Now using the toothpick, starting from the centre, make straight lines towards the edge. Give some space and make another line, repeat until you get the shape.
Once you are done, place the cake tray into the preheated oven. bake the cake at 180 degree Celsius for about 20 to 25 mins. The timing varies according to the oven. Meanwhile, check the cake, using a toothpick, if it comes out clean, then cake is baked properly. Cool the cake properly, Transfer to a plate.

Now make some slices and enjoy your cake with a cup of tea or coffee. Yummy Egg-less Marble cake is ready to serve.

Happy Cooking 🙂
