Ajwain and Jeera (Carom & Cumin Seeds) Water – Detox

As we all know that detoxification is very important for a human body. There are certain methods available to remove the toxic elements from the body. One wonderful way is drink. A simple drink in the morning on an empty stomach can solve many issues and leads to a healthy lifestyle. There are different detoxing drinks are available. Here I am going to share about Ajwain and Jeera (Carom & Cumin Seeds) Water.

Ajwain or Carom Seeds have lots of health benefits and Medicinal values. This works from babies to elder people. It’s recommended during pregnancies as well. Ajwain water is very useful in cleansing of the stomach and uterus. Carom seeds increases metabolism, therefore it burns fat and helps in weight loss. Ajwain water is good in curing the gastritis, indigestion, many stomach related issues, migraines, respiratory disorders and arthritis problems as well.

Cumin Seeds are the most familiar spice in Indian Cuisine. They are packed with antioxidants. It helps in improving the digestion and enhance the metabolism rate, therefore burns fat and helps to reduce unwanted weight. It reduces the bad cholesterol and increases the good cholesterol levels. The accumulation of unwanted toxins in our body leads to inflammation, increased stress levels, constipation, indigestion, and weight gain. Taking Jeera water everyday will helps in removing the toxic elements from the body.

There are different ways to prepare this water. My recipe is,


  • Ajwain / Carom seeds – 1 tsp
  • Jeera / Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Honey – 1/2 tsp (optional)


  1. Mix 1 tsp of ajwain and jeera in 1 cup of water.
  2. Cover with a lid and let it stay overnight.
  3. In the morning, either drink this water directly or boil it for about 10 minutes, let it cool down to room temperature, and drink it on an empty stomach.
  4. You can add honey, if you like.

Now, your simple detoxification is done for the day. 🙂

  1. I always thought that jeera water must be boiled or the ajwain and jeera must be dry roasted first. This simpler version ofajwain – jeera detox water sounds interesting

    1. Yes, I preferred boiled water, since it is soaked for overnight. I don’t think, there is any harm in consuming the soaked water directly as well.

        I want to know the effect of mixture of boil jeera carom and cinnamon
        .. for 6 month breastfeeding mother,to loss weight

    2. I took 3glasses of water when I come from office… Adding 2spoons jeera 1spoon carrom seeds and adding small stick of cinnamon…boiling…
      I am taking one glass evening and second glass after dinner and third glass next morning…
      It’s nice since seven days I’m doing feeling better
