Paneer Capsicum Manchurian Recipe | Cottage cheese manchurian

Paneer Capsicum Manchurian is a dry starter recipe. It’s also a perfect side dish for fried rice dishes. It’s an Indo-Chinese recipe, I slightly modified according to Indian taste. People who love paneer should try this recipe. I pan fried the paneer cubes here, you can also deep fry if you want. Check below for step by step pic illustration.

Ingredients for paneer fry:

  • Paneer (Cottage cheese) – 250 gms
  • Corn starch powder – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – required level
  • Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

For Manchurian:

  • Capsicum – 1/2 (chopped)
  • Onion – 1 (chopped)
  • Ginger – 1 tsp
  • Garlic – 1 tsp
  • Green chili – 1 tsp
  • Tomato Sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Soy Sauce – 1/2 tbsp
  • Water – 1/4 cup
  • Salt – required level
  • Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves / Celery – few (garnish)

Description:

  1. First get the ingredients ready. Chop onion and capsicum into square sizes. Chop the paneer into cubes and dry them. Finely chop the ginger, garlic and green chilies
  2. Add 2 tbsp of corn starch, red chili powder, black pepper powder and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix everything well, then add paneer cubes into that. Gently mix well.
  4. Now take a pan, add oil into that, Once it is heated, add the paneer cubes.
  5. Flip and fry the paneer cubes until it is cooked evenly on both sides.
  6. Transfer the fried paneer cubes to a plate and keep it aside.
  7. In the same pan, add chopped onions and capsicum. Saute until the color changes.
  8. Then add ginger, garlic and green chilies. Saute for few mins.
  9. Now add red chili powder, black pepper powder and salt, mix everything well.
  10. Once it is cooked, add tomato sauce and soy sauce. Mix it.
  11. Now add the water to the left over corn starch mix which was used for paneer, mix well and add to the pan mixture.
  12. Once the sauce is thickened, add the fried paneer cubes and mix well.
  13. Gently mix everything, once it is ready, transfer to a plate and garnish with coriander leaves or spring onion greens.

Step by step process with picture representation:

Chop onion and capsicum into square sizes. Chop the paneer into cubes and dry them. Finely chop the ginger, garlic and green chilies.

Once it is heated, add the paneer cubes. Flip and fry the paneer cubes until it is cooked evenly on both sides.

Transfer the fried paneer cubes to a plate and keep it aside.

Now add red chili powder, black pepper powder and salt, mix everything well.
