Wheat Garlic Bread Roll (Eggless)

I wanted to make garlic bread from quite a long time, and finally I made an attempt to make this. It was absolutely amazing. It’s perfect with a cup of tea in the evening. Try out this recipe for an evening snack, People can actually never say NO to this snack. It’s soft, slightly crispy and very yummy. I made this roll with whole wheat flour and you can also try with all purpose flour or Maida. Let’s get to the step by step description.

Ingredients to make the dough:

  • Whole Wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Maida / All purpose flour – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – required level
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Sugar – 1/2 tbsp
  • Water – 180 ml
  • Dry yeast – 1 tsp

To make Garlic Bread roll:

  • Garlic (crushed) – 1 tbsp
  • Ajwain – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – few (chopped)
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Oregano – 1 tsp
  • Rosemary – 1 tsp
  • Salt – required level

Description:

  1. Take a bowl, add the warm water and then mix the sugar and dry yeast in that water, allow to rest for 10 to 15 mins.
  2. After 15 mins, the yeast solution will become frothy, now add the dry flours, salt and oil. Mix well, knead a soft and smooth dough.
  3. Apply oil on that dough and cover up, allow to rest for 1.30 hrs to 2 hrs.
  4. When the dough is ready. Now it’s time to prepare the garlic spread.
  5. Crush the garlic well and take the half melted butter and the ingredients (crushed garlic, ajwain, oregano, rosemary, salt and celery)
  6. Preheat the oven to 180 C for 15 minutes.
  7. Mix everything well.
  8. Now take the dough and knead a little more. Dust the dough with dry flour before pressing. Take a small ball and roll it to a round shape.
  9. Now spread the garlic mixture on the rolled dough.
  10. Now roll the dough to the end. Slice into small pieces (rolls)
  11. Take a pan and grease with butter or oil, then place the rolls in the pan, brush the top of the rolls with the garlic spread if it remains.
  12. Now bake the rolls for 15 to 20 mins. (this time will vary according to your oven)
  13. Once it is ready, serve with some tomato or chilly sauce.

Step by step process with picture representation:

First add the warm water in a bowl, then mix the sugar and dry yeast in that water, allow to rest for 10 to 15 mins.

Now it’s time to prepare the garlic spread. Peal and crush the garlic cloves,

Get the other ingredients ready.

Take the butter and half melt it.

Mix everything in the butter.

Now take the dough and knead a little more.

Dust some dry flour on the base, Take a small ball and roll it to a round shape with rolling pin.

Now spread the garlic mixture on the rolled dough.

Now roll the dough to the end. Slice into small pieces (rolls)

Take a pan and grease with butter or oil, then place the rolls in the pan, brush the top of the rolls with the garlic spread if it remains.

Preheat the oven to 180 C for 15 minutes before placing the tray. Now bake the rolls for 15 to 20 mins. (this time will vary according to your oven).

Once it is ready, serve with some tomato or chilly sauce.
