Kabuli Chana Masala Roll | Chana Masala Katti Roll | Chole Wrap

This recipe is very famous in North India. It’s perfect for lunch box and Kids will love this. We can make this roll with different ingredients like Paneer, Chana / Chole / Chickpeas, Mixed Vegetables, Potatoes, etc., Cooked chickpeas with masala is rolled up in a roti (wheat bread). It tastes very yummy and the two wraps would fill your stomach for sure πŸ™‚ Try it out and let me know.

Ingredients:

  1. Kabuli Chana (White chickpeas) – 1 cup
  2. Onion – 1 medium sized (finely chopped)
  3. Tomato – 1 medium sized (finely chopped)
  4. Green Chili – 2 (finely chopped)
  5. Ginger and Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  6. Salt – required level
  7. Curry leaves and Coriander leaves – few
  8. Mustard and Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  9. Chana Masala – 1 tbsp
  10. Rotis (Wheat Breads) – 4 to 6 (required nos)
  11. Oil – 2 tbsp
  12. Tomato paste or Ketchup (optional)

Process:

Wash and soak the chickpeas for 6 to 8 hours or overnight. Before cooking, wash the chickpeas and cook in pressure cooker. Leave up to 6 whistles to get the chickpeas properly cooked.

Get other ingredients ready to prepare.

Heat the oil in a wide pan, add mustard and cumin seeds after the oil gets heated.

After that add chopped onions and green chilies into that. Saute well.

Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a min and then add tomatoes and curry leaves into that.

Add saltΒ and Chana masala powder, saute everything well until it blends. Then add cooked chickpeas into that.

Now mix everything well and cook in a low flame for about few mins. Once the chickpeas blend well with the masala. Add coriander leaves and mix it.

Now Keep this aside and prepare the rotis (wheat breads).

Now take the roti and spread some tomato paste on it. It is optional.

Take 1 to 2 tbsp of the cooked chana masala, place it in a row in the center of the roti.

Roll it up tightly and use aluminium foil or tissue paper to wrap the one end to hold the rolls.

Repeat the process for other rotis as well and Enjoy the Chana roll.
