Lentil Oats (Toor dal Oats) Recipe
Oats have got so much of health benefits, But taking plain oats as everyday meals is slightly boring, we need something spicy and tasty. So this recipe would fulfill your expectation for sure. Kick start your day with healthy and tasty breakfast 🙂
- Oats – 1 cup
- Toor Dal – 1 cup
- Small Onions – 5 to 6
- Carrot – 1 finely chopped
- Capsicum (Green bell pepper) – 1/2 finely chopped
- Green Peas – few
- Red Chili – 2
- Garlic – 3 to 4 finely chopped
- Curry and Coriander leaves – few
- Salt – required level
- Sambar powder – 2 tbsps
- Cashew nuts – 4 to 5 pieces
Note: Veggies are optional, you can add other vegetables as well.
Get the ingredients ready, Veggies and spices.
Take 1 cup of toor dal in a pressure cooker, cook for 5 to 10 mins or leave it for 2 to 3 whistles. Once it is cooked, add oats also into that, cook for few mins.
Meanwhile, lets prepare the spices for Oats, Take a wide pan, add oil into that, once it is heated, add mustard and cumin seeds, after a min add garlic and onion, saute well for few mins. Add other vegetables also into that. Saute everything well.
Once the veggies are cooked and ready, add it to the oats and mix everything well. Add salt and sambar powder as well into that. Cook for few more minutes.
Once everything blends well. Transfer it to bowl. You can garnish with some cashew nuts and coriander leaves.
Yummy Sambar Oats is ready to serve.
