Onion Pakoda Recipe – Snack
Onions have lots of health benefits. It helps in regulating blood sugar level, reduces inflammation, lowers bad cholesterol level and prevents cancer. Onion Pakoda is perfect for evening time snack with a cup of Tea. It’s very simple to make.
- Onion – medium sized 2 or 3 (finely chopped)
- Green Chilies – 2 to 3 (finely chopped)
- Coriander and curry leaves – few
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Ajwain seeds – 1 tbsp
- Salt – required level
- Turmeric and Chili powder – 1 tbsp.
- Besan powder – 1 cup.
- Oil – required amount to fry the onions.
Get all the ingredients (Onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, curry leaves, cumin seeds, Ajwain seeds ) ready in a mixing bowl.
Sprinkle a bit of salt over the mixture. Keep it aside for 10 mins. So that onion would set and release some moisture.
Mix the remaining ingredients (salt, turmeric and chili powder) also in that. Once everything is mixed properly.
Add besan powder also in that. Add a bit of water, may be 2 tablespoons or more, depends on the onion moisture level.
Once everything blends well, Heat oil in a wide pan, drop the one tablespoon of mixture at a time into that oil. Turn it over and fry well.
Hot hot yummy onion pakoda is ready to be served.
